The Waiting Is The Hardest Part

Posted on Mon Jan 8th, 2018 @ 5:31pm by Lieutenant Junior Grade Joshua MacClaren

Wrapped up my duties and have all my personal baggage ready to go--now it's just a matter of time to get final approval to transfer to the Sovereign. Hope they can handle the doggie-dogs becausse I WILL NOT BE LEAVING THEM BEHIND!!! Bud and Bella proved useful on the MERRIWETHER LEWIS (but when you have a compliment of 20 to do an entire survey you take the help whenever and wherever you can get it.)

I wonder how well the crew will take to a Pacafican Hedonist--not to mention one with Betazoid and Delta ancestry--not that either one gives me anything in the way of special skills other than the ability to absorb knowledge like a sponge. It was great to pick up certifications in Medicine Diplomacy and Exobiology so I'm sure they will be able to find SOME use for me. Still, it's going to be an adjustment for everyone involved. Ah well--I knew the job was dangerous when I took it. If I'd wanted it easy I suppose I could have stayed on Pacifica, found me a nice S-group on a pleasant archipelago and picked up a few medical jobs when I wasn't surfing but that's not me. The galaxy called and I answered via Star Fleet.

So here I am, having made the schelp from my last posting with all the paperwork filed and all my worldly goods in tow. Truly, like the old song says "the waiting is the hardest part!"
