Samples aboard ship
Creatures in the Corner
Location: shuttlebay 2
Billi had landed and both women left the fighter. Davis was careful to get the canopy removed and set to the side so they could do research on it. Another team of techs began to replace the cockpit cover.
When the fighter had returned to Eclipse Kirk had placed her station on standby and left the bridge, heading down to shuttlebay 2. Entering, she saw Billi, her tech chief, and a marine cadet all standing and looking down at the melted section of canopy, right above where Billi's head had been.
"Damn, you're lucky to be alive, Lieutenant Billi." Kirk joined the group.
Billi nodded. "Trust me, I know. Alright, Lohki, do your thing. Collect samples and get them to Security and Science."
Lohki nodded and collected his sample kit, then went to work.
Kirk squatted and got down on eye level with the top of the canopy, examining the melted spot and all the transparisteel around it. "That looks like some kind of resin," she noted, pointing to it. "An after affect?"
Billi bent at the waist, hands on knees to look herself. "It looks like it."
Lohki found the liquified metals coagulating together with the acid, using his tools and gathering numerous samples. "I would have to agree. It has hardened and seems to surround the initial droplets of acid saliva."
"A byproduct?" Asked Kirk.
"We won't know until we get these samples analyzed, Kirk." Lohki kept working.
Billi and Jamie stood tall next to each other, with Billi looking at the woman. "Cadet Kirk, you may assist with the investigation. Get with Lohki and get as much information as we can. Intel needs a full report for Starfleet Command, on this."
"Aye, Sir," said Kirk. "Will do." Jamie left to go get her own sample kit.
